Why do I need to watch what I eat?

It is very important to modify one's diet when following a homeopathic treatment.

When the toxin level is too high in the tissues, you lose the capacity for self-healing. The goal of natural treatments is to free the body from its toxins, thereby allowing it to regain this capacity.

Healthy eating reduces the introduction of toxins into the body by 70%.

A less-known function is related to the immune system. Seventy percent of the immune system is centered in the digestive system. The food you eat has a direct effect on the immune system.

In modern society we are up against two types of insults to the body: dead foods - as opposed to live foods - and toxic foods.

 Dead foods

Dead foods are not nourishing and not assimilated. However, they may be burned as fuel or stored as fat. But they have no nutrition value left with regard to vitamins, trace minerals and, especially, enzymes. Therefore they create both lack and excess. They lack nutrients needed by the cells and excess fuel stored as fat and excess toxins are produced due to their inefficient metabolism.

Food that has been

preserved: canned, in jars, baked with preservatives, packaged with preservatives

pasteurized like juice or milk, and cheese made from pasteurized milk,

ultra-pasteurized with high heat, like cream and half-and-half

freeze dried or

micro-waved

is dead.

 Toxic foods

Toxic foods are those that no longer bear any resemblance to nature. They clog up organism, stun the nervous system, and disrupt the hormonal system.

Food that has been

transformed,

hydrogenated like vegetable oils

prepared,

polluted with added preservatives,

colorants,

pesticides

and fungicides

is toxic.

Live foods

Live foods are those that are fresh and grown in soils with balanced mineral and microorganism content. They are not sprayed with pesticides, amped up with chemical fertilizers, or preserved with wax, high heat or irradiation (cold pasteurization.)

Live foods are the antithesis of new-fangled processed packaged convenience foods. They appear in the market in a form as close as possible to how they appear in nature. This means that if their natural moisture content and oils are not still intact, they are preserved in a way that maintains enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.

They do not have to be eaten raw, certain foods dry well and others are more beneficial when cooked.

 Recommendations

To deeply nourish the cells of the body, your eating pattern most likely must be modified. It is a matter of eating a preponderance of fruit and raw and cooked vegetables every day and filling up with at least 2 quarts of water between meals. In addition:

  • Meat may be consumed in small quantities, leaning toward poultry and fish rather than red meat.
  • Small amounts of yogurt and cheese made of raw milk can be consumed but eliminate pasteurized milk and dairy products.
  • Increase consumption of vegetables and include starches and cereals such as quinoa, amaranth, brown rice, tapioca, potatoes, chick peas, lentils, and beans.
  • Decrease consumption of wheat and other cereals containing gluten such as rye, oats and spelt.
  • Eliminate comfort foods such as prepared processed dishes, chocolate, sweets and fast foods.
