The Biotherapeutic use of Trace elements, or Oligotherapy, administers these elements at a concentration present inside the cell. There are two purposes to this.
The first purpose is to restore a deficiency in minerals and trace elements due to long-term excess acidity in the body. The trace elements present in the body function by neutralizing the circulating acids, but are depleted with the elimination of the neutralized waste. Therefore, they must be supplemented.
The second purpose is to regulate the enzymatic functions within the cell on which the whole balance of the body depends.
The trace elements are mineral cofactors that are needed within the cell at precise concentrations for enzyme reactions. Most chemical reactions in a biological system will not occur in the absence of a biological catalyst or enzyme. Trace elements can stabilize the enzyme action and actually activate the enzymes. Therefore, the trace elements catalyze the body's enzymes, therefore are catalyzers of the body's catalysts.
The trace elements can liberate intracellular toxins when there are cellular metabolic problems. This enzymatic regulation is done in combination with a general homeopathic treatment.
