Homeopathic First Aid

A First Step

Learning to use homeopathic remedies for first aid can be
an empowering first step in taking your health into your own hands.

Of course, the place to start is by adopting healthy lifestyle practices.

Adding the use of homeopathy can make the difference between a burn healing with
or without a scar or a sprained ankle healing in a week instead of a month.
Usually, it just comes down to how much pain you will experience from an accident
and how it impacts the quality of your life.

For example, when my dog gets his nails cut,
I keep homeopathic Phosphorus dissolved in a little water on hand in case one gets cut too short.
A lot of blood can flow from that little toenail, and if you're not careful in a minute it can be all over the place.
Just by applying a little of the remedy in water on the inside of his ear, the bleeding stops immediately.
I know my clothes will not be stained with red and my dog is visibly relieved as well.
It works on humans for bleeding, too!

Starting with the Basics

If you are not already familiar with using homeopathic remedies, I suggest starting with a book such as Maesimund Panos , MD 's book Homeopathic Medicine at Home, or Thomas Kruzel, ND's Homeopathic Emergency Guide. I'm not going to explain the basics here. The National Center for Homeopathy (www.homeopathy.org) is a great resource for local study groups and classes nationwide. That's how I got my start.

Keep it Simple

Keep it Simple

The first aid use of homeopathy is distinctly different than homeopathic treatment of the individual according to constitution, temperament, and reactional mode. It is much simpler in that the remedy is individualized to the traumatizing means in this case and not as much the person.

The distinction between several remedies for a condition is obvious and straightforward. The remedies are to be used in the situation that fits, in a routine manner.

So, for those of you who know about how to use the remedies, here is a short list of tried and true first aid remedies. Sometimes the potency is mentioned, but you should know to stay low for most first aid situations.

Further Help

Coughs, colds, earaches, indigestion, and general aches and pains can often be treated at home. Continue to other references with more extensive lists covering these conditions.

Remember there are some conditions that you can treat for yourself, such as these small traumas, and I encourage you to do so. There are other conditions that need the skill of a professional trained in the use of Homeopathic remedies. Do not hesitate to seek one out.
